Conditions Governing Access
The collection is open for research. Access to fragile originals is restricted when access copies are available. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest. Biographical / Historical
The San Diego Progress-Journal was the succeeding title of the San Diego Progress, and was published from 1933 - 1944. Alternate titles include the Progress Journal. The Linda Vista Progress Journal appears to be largely the same content published under a more specific regional title. In 1944 the newspaper's title changed to the San Diego Daily Journal.
The San Diego Progress-Journal was published weekly from 1924 to 1932, twice weekly from 1933 to 1935, weekly again from 1935 to 1937, and then twice weekly once more from 1938 - 1944.
