Scope and Contents

Folder contains materials relating to interns Ruth Ann Garcia and Sallie Riley. They interned at the Pala Library. Folder contains mostly email correspondences regarding onboarding emails and figuring out intern projects between Biggs, Garcia Riley, and Kit Henhrily (CSUSM, Coordinator of Cataloging). There are also other emails, such as an exchange between Biggs and JoAnn Greenberg, asking for assistance with the interns' project in InMagic; an email from Cherlyn Leen regarding CSUSM's Gathering of Voices conference; and an email from Daniela Dixon to Biggs with an update that she was hired as a children's librarian with the Fairfax County Library System Folder also contains other documents, such as a memo containing a list of arrangement and collection assessments recommendations for the Pala Library (unclear which intern created this memo); a contact sheet for InMagic headquarters; a print out of an InMagic online manual; an “Evaluation of Fieldwork/Evaluation of Internship” form; and Kit Herlihy’s list of goals from Garcia and Riley’s Pala field study.

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research. Some materials have been restricted because of FERPA or concerns with Personally Identifiable Information. Select items/Contents have been reformatted and have digital access copies. Access to original [audio tapes, video recordings, etc.] is restricted; researchers may request viewing copies. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
