Scope and Contents

Folder contains materials relating to establishing CSUSM's Tribal Liaison position. Folder contains a draft of CSUSM's Position Description for the Tribal Liaison position, which is a part of the department of Graduate Studies & Research, as well as the official Position Description for the position. Folder also contains a Memorandum from Biggs to Gerardo Gonzalez (Interim Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies), advocating for a hiring a permanent Tribal Liaison position at CSUSM There is also an email exchange between Biggs and Gonzalez regarding the draft of the Tribal Liaison Position Description and how to work out the specifics of the position and its pay. Folder also contains a newspaper article announcing the hiring of Tismall Turner as CSUSM's Tribal Liaison in "Tribal liaison named at CSUSM," North County Times, October 25, 2007." Folder contains miscellanous materials such as Biggs' handwritten notes titled, "Tribal Liaison Search;" a "Salary Schedule, Collective Bargaining ID R09" document;" the “FY 2007-2008 Budget Call/Strategic Funding Request Division Detail Worksheet;” and the CSUSM Job Description for Academic Scheduler, in the department of Academic Programs.

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research. Some materials have been restricted because of FERPA or concerns with Personally Identifiable Information. Select items/Contents have been reformatted and have digital access copies. Access to original [audio tapes, video recordings, etc.] is restricted; researchers may request viewing copies. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
