Folder contains many documents relating to the 2003 and 2005 IMLS grant that the AA’Alvikat Pauma Library was awarded. The grant was intended to aid in organizing the library, staffing the library, maintaining hours, and improving the library's infrastructure. The grant was also designed for the Pauma Library to developing a network of linking tribal librarians in the San Diego County and in the creation of a best practices tribal librarianship handbook. Grant-related items include the “2005 IMLS Enhancement Grant” plan document, which describes their 2006-2008 goal timelines and objectives with the library automation system project. “2003 IMLS Native American Library Services Pauma Luiseno Tribe/ AA’Alvikat Library Enhancement Grant,” grant application; including the purpose of the grant, budget documents, abstract, statement of needs, and floor plans.

Folder also contains email correspondences from 2004 between Bonnie Biggs, Katherine Gannett (Palomar College), and Bonni McCrea (Palomar College) regarding updates for the 2003 grant project and their concerns moving forward.

Folder also contains email correspondences between Biggs, Gannett, and Yoland Espinoza (Palomar College and Pauma Library) regarding library positions for a grant; paperclipped to these exchanges is paperwork for the Public Services Supervisor position in the Library & Information Services department at CSUSM.

Folder also contains miscellaneous items, such as Pauma Library event flyers, February 2005 and October/November 2004 AA’Alvikat/Pauma Library Newsletters, email correspondence regarding the 2004 San Diego County Tribal Librarian’s Teleconference Meeting, and a 2004 North County Times newspaper article, titled, “AA’Alvikat Library welcomes the public in Pauma.” The article highlights the 2003 IMLS grant project, the opening of the Pauma Library, and librarian Yolanda Espinoza.
