Scope and Contents

File consists of five folders related to the "Tribal Libraries, Archives and Museums Preserving Our Language, Memory and Lifeways" conference, held at the Heard Museum in Pheonix, AZ, June 7-9, 2000. The conference was funded by a National Leadership Grant from the Institude of Museum and Library Services. Conference focuses on tribal cultural institutions from Arizona, Colorado, Nevada. New Mexico, and Utah. Goals of conference included creating a regional nework to support tribal cultural institutions and programs; articulating contemporary issues relating ot the development of trial libraries, archives, and museums; and continuing to develop collaboration among tribal and non-tribal cultural institutions.

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research. Some materials have been restricted because of FERPA or concerns with Personally Identifiable Information. Select items/Contents have been reformatted and have digital access copies. Access to original [audio tapes, video recordings, etc.] is restricted; researchers may request viewing copies. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
