Scope and Contents

Folder contains materials relating to Biggs' correspondence with employees at the publishing house McFarland & Co. who were interested in Biggs publishing a manuscript about tribal libraries. Biggs correspondend in the early 2000s with Gary Mitchem, Assistant Editor, regarding Bigg's article on Dr. Lotsee Patterson which was featured in American Indian Culture and Research Journal and the proposed manuscript. There are other follow-up emails between Biggs and employees of the publishing house; Annushka Sonek, Lisa Henderson, and Daniel T. de Lill.

Folder also contains other email correspondence, including between Rebecca Swift and Kelly Webster regarding the AILA and tribal librarianship activity in the early 2000s, and between Biggs and Loriene Roy regarding AILA activity and library statistics in 1997.

Folder also contains miscellaneous items, such as a Fall 2001 McFarland & Co. catalog and “Tlahtolli: The Word: The Newsletter of the Friends of the Sequoyah Library, Vol. 2, Iss. 1, Winter 2001.”

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research. Some materials have been restricted because of FERPA or concerns with Personally Identifiable Information. Select items/Contents have been reformatted and have digital access copies. Access to original [audio tapes, video recordings, etc.] is restricted; researchers may request viewing copies. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
