"Lucille Johnson of 1101 Rustic Road will be hostess at 7:30 p.m. Monday for a workshop to be held by Palomar Unity 270, Ladies Auxiliary to the Fleet Reserve Association. The women are preparing for their participation in Bazaar Days at Escondido Village Mall Nov. 5 to 7. Some of the women working on children's toys and decorations for the bazaar include (from left) Mmes. Thomas J. Harris, Earl J. Manning, Johnson and Green. Mrs. Green, co-chairman with Mrs. Harris for the bazaar, will be hostess for another workshop at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 in her home, 2539 Kirkland." [Similar images in envelope, as well as additional images related to 1970-09-17 article with photography by John Eden with following caption for the published image:] "The spinning wheel on the second-story front porch of this house at 1120 Chestnut St., Escondido, caught the eye of the passing photographer, so he stopped to film it. The house belongs to Charlie and Millie Morgan, and they are in the process of remodeling it. They have owned it for seven years, but until recently it was rented to tenants. Mrs. Morgan purchased the spinning wheel in an antique store."

Conditions Governing Access
The Dan Rios papers are currently undergoing processing and are open for research. The department has internal documentation over what is in individual envelopes and can search for people, places, and events from 1968 - 2001 in advance of any visits so that we can ensure we have materials on hand for researchers. Please contact Special Collections in advance to request access.
The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
