Old California Restaurant Row (San Marcos, Calif.)

Scope Note: Old California Restaurant Row was built in San Marcos, California, in 1978 on West San Marcos Boulevard. It was a series of restaurants and shops developed by Jim and Vera Eubank, and at its height contained shops, a movie theater, and restaurants, including an outdoor food court, all designed in the California Mission Style. The buildings of Old California Restaurant Row were built with salvaged materials including lumber and timber from older buildings, and rock from the nearby Pala Indian Reservation, as well as hand-made Mexican tiles.

Old California Restaurant Row was slated for redevelopment in 2022 and is currently under that development with the aim to make it a mixed use commercial and residential district.
