Scope and Contents
"Prizes from Felicita herself, Tina Sarno (right) were presented Tuesday to winners of the Kit Carson Days downtown window decorating contest. Tickets to the Felicita Pageant were awarded to Ann Hamilton (second from right) for her first place theme entry in the window of the Valdon Shop, 113 W. Grand Ave. (rear). Other first place winners were Anita Kratka, co-winner with her sister, Annette (second from left), for their most comical entry. Kim Wright (third from left) was a second place winner in the most artistic category. Rex Hamilton (left), art director for the Escondido Union (elementary) School District, was coordinator. Miss Sarno and Escondido councilwoman Lorraine Boyce were judges. Other winners were Daniel Munoz, Cindy Summers and Cindy Chadwick. Tickets were awarded to all of the contestants". Conditions Governing Access
The Dan Rios papers are currently undergoing processing and are open for research. The department has internal documentation over what is in individual envelopes and can search for people, places, and events from 1968 - 2001 in advance of any visits so that we can ensure we have materials on hand for researchers. Please contact Special Collections in advance to request access.
The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest. From the Collection: 222.31 Linear Feet (186 containers totaling 195 boxes and drawers of various sizes, roughly sized like postcard boxes. Metal containers house 2 or 3 drawers each.)
