"Petra Gomez, queen of the Mexican Independence Day fiesta held Tuesday and Wednesday, was helped with refreshements by David Miranda, assistant fiesta parade chairman, and Maria Alvarado at Grape Day Park Wednesday night. "Youngsters in the Ballet Azteca, a Mexican folk dance troupe from Fallbrook, wound their way up Grand Avenue Wednesday night in a parade which took them and about 60 other persons to the Mexican Independence Day fiesta at Grape Day Park. The troupe and other entertainers attracted about 2,000 persons to the two-day fiesta."
